Welcome! I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. My research focuses on state politics, federalism, Congress, and the American presidency, with a particular interest in how national politics influences policymaking in the states. My research has appeared in the British Journal of Political Science, Presidential Studies Quarterly, and The Politics of Impeachment (Westphalia Press, 2018).
Previously, I was a graduate student at the Cornell Institute for Public Affairs, where I concentrated in Government, Politics, and Policy Studies, as well as a Presidential Fellow at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress. In addition, I also have experience working for organizations in both the public and private sectors. I received my B.S. in Economics and Global Business Studies from Manhattan College. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, going to the park with my dog (Santiago), watching sports, and playing golf.
